The Life they Traded: Interview with Mr. & Mrs. Fester
Mr. Fester is a forex mentor & founder of FestX. An educational platform for learning how to trade in the forex market. Clint put together this platform himself after gaining extensive knowledge doing a local and two major international courses that completely changed his life.
Mrs. Fester was born and raised in Cape Town, Simone Harris (maiden name) born March 21st 1986. Simone studied hotel management after finishing Grade 12 and then worked in Hospitality in the UK for 3 years. She is known for loving animals some may say even more than humans.
I asked this power couple a few questions about life & business:
When did you two first meet?
We met in high school back in 2001, started as very good friends before we got romantically involved in 2007 and then we got married in 2011
What is Mr & Mrs. Fester currently working on?
As a couple, we are currently working on renovating our new home apart from working on another business that we are keeping private for now, but there is a need and a market gap for what we plan to launch in 2020. “It won’t contain the words FestX in it,” -Simone
Mr. Fester, how do you manage to be a full-time trader & entrepreneur with a family?
I won’t lie it does have its ups and downs because running your own business on top of being a full-time Trader takes a lot out of your day but what I do try and do after 6 pm is turn my phone off (which rarely happens but I try lol) and focus on the family. There’s a fine line between Full-time Dad and full-time entrepreneur, you just have to make time for your family.
What advice would you give to a normal couple that is working a 9–5 but strives to be full-time entrepreneurs?
I would say figure out who has the lesser paying Job between the 2 of you and then that one resigns and goes full time into the business while the partner takes care of the basics like rent food etc. “A little sacrifice will go a long way, we did this same thing” -Clint.
So I talk from experience. People think we achieved overnight success, but the truth is overnight success took us 3–5 years.
What drives you as a couple to keep going?
We have a strong WHY…. Acronym for WHY (WHAT HURTS YOU) We both grew up in a broken home and having 2 of our own kids we obviously want to provide the best life for them. We want them to never have to worry about money but at the same time we want to teach them how to handle money at a young age as that’s something we not taught in school
Mrs. Fester, what’s it like being a full-time mom while having a husband who runs a business?
Being a full-time mom has its rewarding moments but I do enjoy helping Clint with the business side as well. “I’m the brains behind this operation,” says Simone laughing out loud.
What does Mr. and Mrs. Fester do for a family fun time?
We enjoy fun outings with the kids, Long drives on Sunday afternoons and we try to get them to see wildlife and the outdoors when we can, as today’s kids are more tech-savvy. We love to eat good food and dine at new restaurants and do hotel stay overs in various and random locations.
Today Mrs. Fester handles the social media side of things such as emails & Facebook business page. Mr. Fester is currently handling all in-person and online courses to maintain high-quality client results. This is a major key factor in how FestX has been able to maintain a 100% success rate in teaching all their students.
