From Tradecraft Farms blunts, live music to survival gear to donate to the homeless on Skid Row, Shea Alderete’s goal for Gen X was to team up with the right partners for the holiday’s philanthropic attributes. With one thing on my mind, creating lasting memories, it was so easy and natural to be part of the Dub Bros Skid Row Xmas Event. Enjoying the evenings’ festivities including Santa Claus pulling up in the lowrider and legends like Everlast and B-real performing for the event, the holiday spirit of giving was upon us.

It wasn’t advertised or promoted during the event, but some of the key players who orchestrated the event went on a midnight cruise through Down Town Los Angeles Skid row district to distribute survival bags that were generously donated by all the brands that contributed to the event. This survival bag consisted of a pair of socks, a beanie, a backpack, basic bathroom items, a new tent, and some flashlights to light up their surroundings during dull times. The main focus here was to give the basic necessary items that we take for granted every day and to share that with a part of our community that lives on the streets of LA.
