Interview with power- player Entrepreneur Milton “Todd” Ault III
Milton “Todd” Ault III is a power-player known for his takeover of the former DPW Digital Power in 2016. Todd was also a shareholder in Patient Safety Technologies which later sold to Stryker for nine figures. Currently, Ault’s focus is “undervalued assets and disruptive technologies with a global impact.” He employs hundreds of people in multiple countries.
In this article we ask Ault about how he rose to success .
Tell us about your company AGH.
Ault Global Holdings (publicly traded as “DPW”) is a private equity, venture capital, holding company that utilizes an activist business model. We also provide, or lend, capital to certain qualified business under certain circumstances. Once we achieve a majority position in a particular company, we help that company develop a new strategy that will increase profitability and market value. A good example is our defense power electronics company Gresham worldwide, or our Coolysis EV power electronics and EV charger company.
How did you make a name for yourself in your industry?
“Primarily just by doing what I do, and doing it well,” Ault said. “Remember, Small Caps” investment is a very small piece of the Wall Street pie, and there’s not a lot of us.”
How does your business help others?
“The obvious answer is that we employ a lot of people, but in the bigger picture we develop “disruptive” technologies. That means we find technologies we believe will become global game changers. For Instance, we are currently using technologies in the textile industry that will eliminate the water pollution footprint associated with textiles. Clean water is a top environmental issue globally. Our technology reduces that water pollution by nearly 90 percent.” “We are also funding medical research that we believe will lead to treatments and cures for such neuro-degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s.”
If someone wanted to emulate your career, give them one key suggestion.
“Get an education. Education is empowerment. You don’t have to go to college, but you do have to get some form of training. My one regret was that I didn’t have the good fortune to have been trained by someone. I had to teach myself.
What keeps you motivated?
“My wife, my family, and my goals. I love what I do. You really have to be committed to what you’re doing, both in the now and the long term.”
