How Justin Hermann Overcame Obstacles As a Young Leader
Justin Hermann is a young adaptable leader that is able to formulate & lead great teams by example. Justin was able to make six-figures his first year out of college in an industry he didn’t study. He has also been able to help a number of associates and friends to build a six-figure income including helping his fiance, and now has established a residual income paying him what he used to make in a year.
In this article we ask Justin a few questions about business.
Obstacles Faced
Justin has faced many obstacles with two of the biggest being the lack of discipline and understanding the adage “today’s sacrifices are tomorrow’s gains.” An example of the latter is when Justin sacrificed giving up the business he worked hard to create and develop in his first three years out of college to pursue his dreams knowing that he needed to be prepared to work nights and weekends. Despite moving to Dallas on a 4-week notice, Justin worked to maintain a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend and now fiance for over 8 months. Justin faced many struggles when starting the Dallas office including deciding whether to pay employees whose families were counting on him to get paid timely or to defer their pay and pay himself first; ultimately valuing the needs of the employees over his. Justin certainly has faced the foibles of complacency and ego common to those who have achieved real accomplishments in business and the repercussions of feeling like you have made it. These challenges and learning lessons have molded Justin into the leader he is today, and which has brought him back to re-establish his faith in God and hone so many of the principles he learned early on and now practice in his business, his life and now through service to his community.
Overcoming Obstacles
He overcame these obstacles by getting better and not frustrated at his current circumstances (personally, professionally, spiritually) He is in a performance based position where he is in full control of his outcome. He said “ I’ve found to be true that what I do today consistently comes to light 90 days later. When times got the toughest I embarked on a 75-day hard challenge to eliminate complacency and this truly helped me validate my theory. It’s powerful to be able to mentally flip a switch, believe in yourself and what you can do.
What Makes Justin Different?
Justin has a technical skill set that he has acquired through his prior career in construction management and now brings to financial services. He brings a great attitude, competitive spirit, leadership and is working for a great company doing private benefits for unions and associations such as police, firefighter, vets, etc. throughout all of North America. Currently the company he is with has more life insurance policies in force than any other company and offers lifetime renewals that you will not find with other companies.
How does your business help others?
It provides financial stability for families when they need it most. Money isn’t everything but it’s right up there next to oxygen when you don’t have it. The company I work for understands that they pay claims fast, serve the people who need it most, and give average people with a willingness to work hard like myself a place to provide for our families through service to others
