Launching a Fashion Label

Addison Guerra made his first million dollars at age 23. Since then, he has devoted much of his time and energy to the research, development, and production of his own self-titled high-end fashion brand. “My designs are a mix of edgy and clean,” Addison explains. “My garments are made of the highest quality materials.” The clothes themselves are only available in black, with leathers imported from Italy, nylons and cottons from both Italy and Japan, and all garments constructed in the United States.

The Origin

Addison Guerra was born in 1991 in Baytown, Texas. He grew up playing sports, even earning the opportunity to play college basketball at the University of Texas at Tyler, before injuries derailed his sports career. With basketball off the table, Addison graduated with his degree in business and immediately put his education to use investing in, growing, and even owning businesses. With such quick success, including the first million dollars by age 23, Addison turned to fashion.

Starting From Nothing

With nothing more than his own money and research abilities, Addison began learning everything he needed to know about the fashion industry. “My line is 100-percent independent,” Addison explains. After learning about the work, materials, and processes required to make his creations come to life, Addison sought out sources for those materials and production that met his unwavering standard of quality. “When someone buys Addison Guerra,” he begins. “They are not just buying the name. They’re buying quality.”

Lessons Learned

In that pursuit, and with no experience in the industry, Addison faced numerous challenges. “I spent six months interviewing over 50 cut and sew companies,” he began. “A lot of people thought they could pull a fast one on me since I had no experience in the industry.” But through patience, research, hard work, and a lot of late nights, Addison launched his line in 2020 and has already attracted A-list clientele, including: Austin Mahone, Tory Lanez, Lonnie Walker, Danny Green, Gerald Green, Gary Harris, Bryn Forbes, Blake, Kellen Mond, multiple other musicians, NBA players, NFL players, MLB players, and multiple other TikTok and YouTube entertainers. For any aspiring fashion entrepreneur, Addison offers this advice: “Try to find a mentor so you can avoid a lot of the mistakes, wasted time, and wasted money that a lot of designers have to face,” he says. Beyond that? “Patience is key,” he adds. “Breathe, keep working, and remember that everything happens for a reason.”
